Fort Sill officials announced a community update that includes an improv comedy class hosted by The Patriot Club on Jan.
31 from 1 to 3 p.m. — they also revealed changes to gate times for MLK day.
On Tuesday, Jan. 13, Kiowa Chairman Lawrence Spottedbird joined anchors Tarra Jones & Dave Hunter during Kiowa Happenings as Vice Chairman Sullivan discussed the Chairman’s Prayer Breakfast and the planned Kiowa Tribe Optical opening.
The segment highlighted cultural events for the community.
Animal shelters in Lawton did not see the usual post-Christmas spike in pet surrenders; most intake rises between May and July (when more litters are born).
Officials advise future pet owners to research breeds and to spay or neuter their pets.

According to a Parks Jones Realtors report, 409 homes are on the market with an average asking price of $209,872 and an average listing time of 49 days.
The report noted that 1,505 homes sold in the past year and that the 30-year fixed mortgage rate dropped to 6.24%.
