- ➤ USO marked its 85th anniversary by offering free support to military personnel and families at Fort Sill. The center, open every day, will celebrate 10 years on-site on Dec. 17 (USO Oklahoma executive Jennifer Waters said the services boost wellbeing). ABC 7
- ➤ Comanche Indian Veterans Association placed a grave marker at Fort Sill today to honor the late USMC MAJ Lewis C. Hurt III, a veteran who flew F-4 Phantom jets with 1,196 flight hours and 30 combat missions before retiring after 20 years of service. ABC 7
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Cameron University Theatre will host A Year with Frog and Toad, a spring musical for all ages, later this month. The show offers a heartwarming adaptation of classic children’s books for families. The Lawton Constitution
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce will host the State of Mental Health Luncheon on Feb. 10 at noon at the Lawton Country Club (4601W. Gore Blvd), where ODMHSAS Interim Commissioner Greg Slavonic will discuss mental health challenges and state initiatives. Reservations cost $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers. Southwest Ledger
