- ➤ The Kiowa Tribe is preparing to honor Honorable Elder Parker Emhoolah with a prayer service Monday at 6 p.m. and a celebration of life on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Comanche Nation Watchetaker Hall (Lawton), and tribal offices will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 10. ABC 7
- ➤ Retired Army Sgt. First Class Benny Coleman was inducted into the Oklahoma Military Heritage Foundation Hall of Honor on Feb. 5 at the Comanche Nation Headquarters' Patriot Room (recognizing his service from 1999 to 2018 and Bronze Star award) by local officials. ABC 7
- ➤ A Lawton woman is seeking the mystery man who pulled her family and pets from a house fire on Southwest Pennsylvania Avenue and helped her act quickly during the emergency. ABC 7
- ➤ Today, the Fort Sill Patriot Spouses Club hosts two Valentine’s events. The Valentine’s Vendor Event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with profits funding scholarships, and the International Tasting Event offers over a dozen samples from noon to 2 p.m. with tickets granting entry to both. ABC 7
- ➤ The Medicine Park community is preparing for its 28th annual Polar Plunge this weekend. The plunge march begins at 2 p.m. Saturday from Park Tavern to Bath Lake. ABC 7

- ➤ EPA Region 6 Administrator Scott Mason discussed Oklahoma's environmental priorities in a recent interview from Lawton, focusing on PFAS testing at military installations and effective emergency responses in Weatherford — he said the agency will soon advance rulemaking efforts to simplify regulations while maintaining clean air, land and water. - ➤ The annual Lawton Citizens Police Academy is underway as over 20 residents join a 13-week course that explains how the police department works + includes sessions on the bike team’s rapid response. The course builds trust by offering a firsthand look at police operations and community engagement. ABC 7
