- ➤ Lawton’s tribally-owned joint venture between Comanche Nation Enterprises Inc. and Numunu Martinez has received a $7.2 million demolition contract at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center and will tear down 48 structures over 730 days to support modernization efforts. Southwest Ledger
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ In 1893, Canadian missionary Isabel Crawford arrived at Elk Creek Mission near Hobart on the Kiowa-Comanche-Apache Reservation by train from Chicago, then drove to Anadarko where Chief Lone Wolf welcomed her arrival. Despite health challenges including hearing loss, she began teaching the community using sign language + a conversation tube. Southwest Ledger

- ➤ Lawton boxer Sammuel Thomas earned his ticket to the Silver Gloves Nationals after winning his bout in Silver Gloves Region 6, and he will face top competitors from Oklahoma & six other states at the national tournament. ABC 7
