- ➤ The Oklahoma Children of Incarcerated Parents Awareness Day is scheduled for March 4 to unite community groups and provide resources for children affected by parental incarceration. More than 26,000 kids statewide face challenges linked to incarceration, prompting this event organized by a statewide advisory committee. Southwest Ledger

- ➤ Country artist Casey Donahew will perform at Apache Casino Hotel in Lawton on April 30 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. with prices from $46.50 to $98.50, available online and at the casino cashier desk. ABC 7
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Oklahoma's hiring rate dropped to 3.1% in the latter half of 2025 — even as job growth held steady and unemployment remained low at 3.6%. Most firms do not expect to add workers in 2026 due to slow sales growth and uncertainty. Southwest Ledger
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Graduation photo sessions for high school and college seniors will be held at the Main Library on March 1 at 9 a.m. Movement Photography offers each graduate six free photos and additional ones at a discount, and registration is required by calling 580-581-3450 ext. 4. ABC 7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Oklahoma senate passed Senate Bill 985 to create a Local Food for Schools Program that connects schools with fresh local food and strengthens the agriculture economy. The bill now advances to the State House for further review. ABC 7
- ➤ Credit card users in Oklahoma may soon pay higher fees — the state Senate approved a measure to raise the cap on what businesses can charge consumers. The new limits will take effect once the guidelines are implemented. The Lawton Constitution
