- ➤ Valley View Fire Department will host its annual chili dinner fundraiser on Saturday, Mar. 14 at 6362 N.E. Cache Road. The fundraiser runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and features homemade chili, hot dogs, sides, and raffles (starting at 4 p.m.) to support department operations. ABC 7
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ House Bill 4427 passed through the House Common Education Committee today, setting rules that require adjunct teachers to have a bachelor’s degree, be close to completion, or have 20 years of experience to teach core subjects for pre-K to fourth grade. School districts may apply for waivers if teachers have prior professional development (science of reading). ABC 7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Oklahoma Senate approved Senate Resolution 29 on Feb. 19 to officially honor Black History Month by recognizing the first Black legislators, Langston University, and historic Black communities (13 of which remain) while marking Black Heritage Day at the Capitol. ABC 7
