ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fire crews were called at 10:15 a.m. on March 27 to a severe house fire on Southwest 6th Street that caused smoke damage in most rooms — one puppy died while three other dogs survived, and officials said an overheated phone charger sparked the blaze. ABC 7
- ➤ Emergency crews responded to a rollover wreck involving multiple vehicles on Highway 62 near Cache—occurring just after 7:30 a.m. on March 27th—in Comanche County as traffic backed up and no injuries were reported yet. ABC 7
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Crime Stoppers of Southwest Oklahoma has asked the public to help find Marco Keith Dill—39—wanted in Duncan on felony charges for assault and battery with a deadly weapon and kidnapping; a warrant was issued on March 12 and he also faces a domestic abuse charge that could bring him a life sentence if convicted. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Cameron University’s art department will hold its senior art exhibition “Through Our Eyes” on April 5 at the Leslie Powell Gallery from 6—8:30 p.m.—the show will feature works from student art competition winners and other graduating artists. The Lawton Constitution
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today and tomorrow, residents across Southwest Oklahoma will cast early ballots at local polling places from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.—Cache and Elgin voters will choose their mayors while Duncan residents select a Ward 3 council member. Grady County, Velma-Alma Public Schools, Frederick, and Elgin voters will also decide on propositions ahead of the April 1 election. ABC 7
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Open Streets will be held Saturday, March 29th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on C Avenue between 2nd and 5th street to help families get outside and learn about healthy eating—Cameron University donated 300 tomato seedlings so children can learn to water and care for plants. ABC 7
