- ➤ KSWO is honoring John Karl Van Ess III, a 67-year-old former Department of Housing and Urban Development employee, as part of its remembrance of the 168 lives lost in the Oklahoma City Bombing. He had his family take a portrait four days before the explosion, played college basketball on a national championship team at Oklahoma A&M, and is survived by his wife, four children, and four grandchildren. - ➤ A Lawton resident arrived home early Wednesday morning to find a car crashed into the front of his house at 4600 SE Aberdeen Ave in East Lawton, and police responded after two o'clock with one person in custody. ABC 7

- ➤ Michael Christopher Marlow, 43, was on the Attorney General’s 10 Most Wanted list for causing a fatal crash in Cotton County in 2022 by driving high on methamphetamines and was caught in Wichita Falls, Texas—officers say he crossed a center line and hit another car that caught fire and killed Crystal M. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Cameron University's Percussion Ensemble will perform End Game, an eclectic concert with student-written compositions and arrangements, at 7:30 p.m. April 9 in the University Theatre in Lawton. The program reflects a creative decision spurred by a remark about the music sounding like video game soundtracks — a nod to the end of a challenging term. The Lawton Constitution

- ➤ City Council's Homeless Action Committee voted to recommend City Manager John Ratliff examine legal options to assume ownership of a property in south Lawton now used as a homeless camp— the tract is located north of the Salvation Army complex on Southwest E Avenue at Southwest 13th Street. - ➤ 12-year-old Tyler Heffner ran the 13.1-mile Fort Sill Warrior Run with a prosthetic leg (not designed for running) and won his age group at Fort Sill. He plans to keep running as he awaits a new leg made for sports. ABC 7
