- ➤ A 78-year-old resident of the Benjamin O. Davis Sr. High Rise has waited eight months for repairs after flooding left exposed live wires near her door. Housing Authority officials say work is underway on six affected floors + residents can contact the office with concerns, though no completion date has been set. ABC 7
- ➤ The 434th Field Artillery Brigade will host its quarterly drill sergeant spouses orientation on April 17 from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at its Lawton base to let spouses see training activities such as the Treadwell tower, rifle simulator, and cycle schedule. ABC 7
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Chisholm Trail Arts Council will display Cameron University art instructor Alyssa Beth Cox's works at 'The Full Circle' exhibition starting April 17 at the Chisholm Trail Art Gallery in Duncan (joining mentors Arlyn Brantley, Jack Crouch, and Christen Humphries). An opening reception is set for Friday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. ABC 7
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Lawton FFA is holding its annual plant sale from Thursday through Saturday at the Lawton Public School farm (1903 S.W. Lee). Sale hours are 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, with proceeds benefiting the program. ABC 7
- ➤ Cameron University will honor retiring music professor Dr. Gregory Hoepfner with a concert on Tuesday, April 21 at the University Theatre. The free performance (featuring Hoepfner’s own works) will include local choirs, students, and alumni, followed by a reception in the Blackbox Theatre. ABC 7

- ➤ Lawton’s Stormwater Division will host its Earth Day event Save the Rain on April 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to offer discounts on rain barrels & weather radios for locals. The Lawton Constitution
- ➤ Households in Lawton can now apply for the Energy Crisis Assistance Program as the Oklahoma Department of Human Services accepts online applications to help with heating and cooling costs. Eligible households meeting income and utility criteria must provide a recent bill, ID, and proof of payment arrangements to prevent service interruption. ABC 7
