- ➤ Public Service Co. of Oklahoma has applied to adjust rates so that a typical residential bill increases by about $25 (a review hearing is set for late June in Oklahoma City with public comments accepted on June 1 and 25). Southwest Ledger
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Cameron University will host a forum on healthy workforce economics at 9:30 a.m. April 22 in the Mary Lou & W. Carey Johnson Auditorium. Three medical panelists will discuss workforce benefits in a free public event sponsored by the Bill W. Burgess Jr. Business Research Center. ABC 7
- ➤ Central High Public Schools held a ribbon cutting and open house for the new RJ Curry Career and Technology Education Center (named for longtime agricultural teacher RJ Curry) on Wednesday, adding hands-on training in STEM, agriculture, vocational development, and culinary arts for students. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ At the 2026 Fires Symposium at Fort Sill, Brig. Gen. Patrick Costello outlined plans to modernize the fires force and recognized nine soldiers for their service. The symposium will continue at the FISTA through April 16. ABC 7
- ➤ Lawton City Council approved improvements — a boat storage building at Lake Lawtonka, a pre-fab restroom at Lake Ellsworth and new playground equipment for both lakes were included to upgrade local recreational facilities. The Lawton Constitution
- ➤ A campaign event for state Sen. Dusty Deevers featuring Kyle Rittenhouse has been moved from Medicine Park Aquarium & Natural Sciences Center; his team will soon announce the new location for the Saturday meet-and-greet. ABC 7
