- ➤ Combat-wounded veterans from Mount Scott Chapter 602 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in Lawton are asking for donations— and they are recruiting new members to support their work. The Lawton Constitution

- ➤ HotelBrokerOne announced that the Comanche Nation purchased Sure Stay Plus Hotel Lawton — along with the adjacent Extended Stay Corporate Apartments — in a deal completed in Lawton. The Lawton Constitution
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Teen Court got its own building at 1002 SW D Ave in Lawton and will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. May 1—people can meet the team and take a tour of the courtroom to learn about the program. Southwest Ledger
- ➤ The City Council awarded large contracts to repair Lake Ellsworth Dam, replace water lines in southeast Lawton, and continue work on a water main along Cache Road. McMillen Inc. will start repairing the dam spillway in early June and local crews are fixing nearby bridges and water lines—these projects are part of a long-term capital improvement plan.
