➤ Lawton’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 52-63 hosted its first Community Wellness event at the Lawton-Fort Sill Veterans Center this past weekend. The event featured a 5K run, Wellness Fair, cookies, and iced tea to help community members live healthier lives. ABC 7
➤ KCA Veterans hosted a community bingo fundraiser at the Comanche Nation Elderly Center on Saturday with fifteen rounds, a cake walk and a raffle to raise funds for the 7th Annual KCA Veterans Powwow on May 16 while honoring local veterans. ABC 7

ECONOMY NEWS

➤ LEDA approved the first fast-track construction contract for the Firehawk Aerospace complex in northwest Lawton, which is set to quicken development and boost local economic activity. More project details are expected soon. The Lawton Constitution

HEALTH NEWS

➤ On Saturday, May 2, Our Blood Institute and Dream Vacations hosted a blood drive at the OBI Donor Center, Oklahoma Veterans Center, Chickasha Visitor Center and Diamondback Harley-Davidson; donors got limited-edition Route 66 T-shirts + free theme park tickets and were entered to win a $2,000 getaway vacation.
