- ➤ The City of Lawton Arts and Humanities Division and the International Festival Committee have invited volunteer performers for the 46th annual International Festival, a family-friendly event set for Sept. 27 to Sept. 29 at Elmer Thomas Park. Interested performers must apply by July 26 for a chance to appear on one of the two large festival stages—notifications will be sent by August 5. ABC 7
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A new study by Scioto Analysis finds that raising the minimum wage to $15 will reduce housing strain in Oklahoma under State Question 832 scheduled for a June 2026 ballot—this gradual increase by 2029 is projected to ease burdens for over 30,000 households, lower annual homelessness by 550, and reduce the demand for 330 shelter beds statewide. - ➤ Since 1990, Cameron University in Lawton has offered summer STEM programs for middle and high school students and will host its 36th annual STEM summer academies.
