➤ Fort Sill and the City of Lawton announced that Freedom Fest will be held on June 27 from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on the Fort Sill Polo Field — the festival will offer food trucks, vendors, fireworks, a drone show, and family games with enhanced security at entry. ABC 7

EDUCATION NEWS

➤ Seniors from Gateway Alternative Learning and Lawton Virtual Academy celebrated completing their graduation requirements at Douglass Learning Center on Thursday. Principal Jennifer Mason said the gathering marked a key step toward graduation and highlighted the center's support for students from seventh to 12th grade. ABC 7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

➤ The Lawton Area Transit System will host a hiring event on May 20 and 21 at 611 SW Bishop Road in Lawton, where job seekers can meet the team and learn about openings for drivers, dispatchers, detailers, supervisors and diesel mechanics. ABC 7

SPORTS NEWS

➤ The Marine Corps League will host its annual Dice Run in Lawton this weekend, with bike and car riders invited to join. Registration opens at 9 a.m. on May 16 at Diamondback Harley-Davidson and bike entries close at 3 p.m. with live music + prizes during the event. ABC 7
