➤ Lawton Community Foundation is accepting grant applications from local nonprofits to offer community grants up to $5,000 + eligible organizations must submit a project description by Aug. 1 to benefit local programs. ABC 7

EDUCATION NEWS

➤ Cameron University is launching an Associate in Science in Agriculture program after the State Regents approved it last Friday + the new program will provide local students with opportunities to build agricultural careers. The Lawton Constitution

GOVERNMENT NEWS

➤ Lawton Citizens Academy returns on July 30 — a 13-week program that offers residents and business owners an in-person look at city operations; applications are due July 17 for one of 25 spots, and the academy runs until Oct. 15. ABC 7
➤ Oklahoma Human Services will launch a new extended foster care program for young adults on July 1 at the state Capitol to provide support through age 21. The program comes after Gov. Kevin Stitt signed Senate Bill 1806 to boost youth services. ABC 7
