COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Lawton Food Bank is short-staffed and is asking local community members to volunteer for food distribution, stocking shelves, or client help to serve residents promptly. Volunteers must wear proper clothing and closed-toed shoes (minors under 15 need adult supervision). ABC 7
- ➤ Registration for Play Lawton’s fall sports league is open today with programs offering tackle football, flag football, baseball, softball and volleyball for kids as well as flag football, softball and volleyball for adults. Earlybird fees are $45 until June 30 while regular fees are $53, and registration closes July 31—registrants should sign up before the deadline. ABC 7

- ➤ FISTA Innovation Park in Lawton wants to start its anechoic chamber project as soon as possible—project plans are set for a quick launch. The Lawton Constitution
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Lawton man is in jail for allegedly passing paper soaked in synthetic marijuana to his father, an inmate at the Lawton Correctional Facility. The Lawton Constitution
- ➤ Lawton Police have issued a Silver Alert for 68-year-old Phyllis Wolf who was last seen late Tuesday night in the 900 block of NW 13th Street wearing a grey shirt and blue sweatpants—she is diabetic and has dementia. ABC 7
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Lawton Public Library will host a STEM class where students build catapults and launchers to learn physics and engineering. The event will be held today from noon to 1 p.m. at 110 SW 4th St. ABC 7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Lawton is continuing its program that lets residents catch rain water to reduce stormwater runoff—residents receive free water as part of the effort. The program is designed to help manage rainwater during heavy storms. The Lawton Constitution
- ➤ Governor Kevin Stitt held his final weekly press conference today after the state legislative session ended. He signed a tax cut into law and noted plans to open business courts and lower court fines for those who served time. ABC 7
