- ➤ A Lawton woman accused of killing her estranged spouse in 2023 is asking a judge to recuse herself — she is also seeking her $1 million bond be lowered. The Lawton Constitution
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A lawsuit filed on June 23rd in the Northern District of Oklahoma challenges the state practice of labeling sex offenders on driver IDs— a program started in 2013. The plaintiffs claim the law violates the First Amendment and stigmatizes over 6,500 registrants, and they seek a court injunction against its enforcement. ABC 7
- ➤ Soldiers, families, and community members noted longer lines and extra checks at Fort Sill; officials said overall security remains unchanged as emergency services monitor risks following a DHS threat bulletin—visitors should allow extra time and bring a Real ID compliant form of identification when entering. 3rd annual set free praise dance conference
This community event is to encourage and empower our youth and young adults to use their gift of dance to build their relationship with God and draw others to Him. We are also bridging the generational gap with our youth to mentor and share life experiences to help them become servant leaders. Friday night will be a night of praise and worship, with instruction on the importance of covering as ministers and how colors have important meaning. Saturday will be all-day workshops including dance technique, mime, and lyrical dance. Each dancer will have two dance workshops based on their training and experience.
