- ➤ The Lawton Public Library will bring the Rolling Thunder Book Bus to the Lawton Farmers Market on July 25 at 1 p.m.—children in kindergarten through 5th grade who are among the first 120 arrivals will receive a ticket to choose a free book from the bus's collection. ABC 7
- ➤ Today, anchors Dave Hunter and Haley Wilson interviewed Sky Homechanh, owner of Smokie Bites BBQ — who discussed an upcoming barbecue event featuring food trucks and a variety of food options. ABC 7
- ➤ Chattanooga native Todd Claborn was diagnosed with testicular cancer last year and his family and community have raised $10,000 so far to help with his mounting medical bills while he receives treatment in Houston. His sister said local supporters will keep helping until he recovers and they can celebrate together. ABC 7

- ➤ A Lawton woman is in jail after she cashed fraudulent checks from an online scammer — the scammer used a famous actor’s identity. The Lawton Constitution
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Lawton Arts and Humanities department will host a bowling tournament at Twin Oaks Bowling Center, 935 Macomb from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday—raising funds for the International Festival. The Lawton Constitution
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ward 2 Councilman R. L. Smith resigned from Lawton City Council effective immediately due to health concerns and a need to spend time with family — he also cited new business opportunities. The council will vote on an interim replacement within 60 days — with the vacancy discussed at the council meeting on July 22. ABC 7
