- ➤ Fort Sill announced that country music star Jerrod Niemann will perform at its historic Patriot Club on September 19th at 7 p.m. Only 500 $10 tickets will be available at the Fort Sill Welcome Center—local bands are invited to audition for the opening act. ABC 7
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ AAA reported that gas prices have held steady across Oklahoma and Texas. In Lawton, prices are set at regular ($2.713), mid-grade ($3.082), premium ($3.385), and diesel ($3.365). ABC 7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Oklahoma residents who are U.S. citizens and at least 17.5 years old can register to vote by August 15 for the September 9 elections—applications submitted after the deadline will be processed after the election and approved voters will receive a card in the mail. ABC 7
- ➤ The US Army Field Artillery School held a change of responsibility ceremony in Lawton when Command Sgt. Maj. Paul Fluharty passed his role as senior enlisted leader to Command Sgt. Maj. John Bamba. Bamba, who served with the 75th Field Artillery Brigade for two years, thanked the community and said he will build on the strong bond with Lawton and Fort Sill — reflecting his commitment to the service.
