- ➤ Building Brilliance and Leap into Literacy hosted a free literacy event on Saturday at Owens Multipurpose Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where children received reading assessments, backpacks, and school supplies. Organizers teamed with the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club to build bookcases for a raffle—hoping to spark interest in home libraries. ABC 7
