- ➤ A two-day homeless charity event will be held at the Salvation Army (1306 SW E Avenue) with one session on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and a second session from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Lawton Constitution
- ➤ Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance is gathering winter coat donations from all 77 counties for its Coats for Kids drive — it collects new or gently used coats and tax-deductible funds — and will accept donations until Sept. 30. ABC 7
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two juveniles were arrested in Fletcher after a stabbing on Wednesday night—one juvenile is accused of attacking a family member with a knife and striking them with a chair while the other was taken in on charges including assault and battery, disturbing the peace, trespassing, and obstruction of justice, and an adult female was also arrested on an unrelated warrant. - ➤ A Lawton doctor faces a new misdemeanor charge and an application to speed up his 2023 deferred judgment was filed in Comanche—if approved his deferral may be revoked. The Lawton Constitution
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, Fort Sill leaders discussed changes set to take effect in Fiscal Year 2026 during the Fires Roundtable Breakfast—Army commands will combine to form Transformation and Training Command and two AFC units will merge into an existing directorate to support a net gain in personnel. ABC 7
