  • Kaylee Tanner, a 17-year-old Cache High School senior, showed her dedication to livestock by exhibiting five sheep at the Comanche County Free Fair — a passion she has nurtured since childhood.  The Lawton Constitution

CRIME NEWS

  • An area man who was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the 2017 killing of his wife and stepfather is seeking trial and treatment at Grand Mental—steps that could shape his next legal moves.  The Lawton Constitution

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Auditor Cindy Byrd said that Oklahoma misused $93.4 million in federal funds—money spent in ways that did not follow federal rules. She warned that the federal government may ask for a payback—forcing taxpayers to cover the cost if changes are not made.  ABC 7
  • A crew from Stampede Utility Construction began a water line replacement project on Southwest 50th Street Thursday morning, and the work extended around the corner. The project is part of ongoing improvements to the local infrastructure.  The Lawton Constitution

  • The City of Lawton board is supporting a plan—changing zoning to encourage the building of tiny homes on vacant blocks in south Lawton neighborhoods—to fill empty spaces with new housing.  The Lawton Constitution
