- ➤ Center for Creative Living held its Oktoberfest meal fundraiser on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at its Elsie Hamm Drive location—offering authentic German dishes like pork schnitzel and spätzle for $13 a plate to support programs for seniors and veterans. ABC 7

- ➤ 7News anchor Tarra Jones interviewed five superintendents—Dr. Channa Byerly of Duncan Public Schools, Rick Croslin of Chickasha Public Schools, Chad Hance of Cache Public Schools, Kevin Hime of Lawton Public Schools, and Nathaniel Meraz of Elgin Public Schools—to discuss issues facing Oklahoma public schools as the new school year is underway. - ➤ Local federal agencies are preparing to cope with staff and service disruptions after the U.S. government shutdown on Wednesday — officials are reviewing plans to keep operations running. The Lawton Constitution
- ➤ Attorney General Gentner Drummond called for an investigative audit of the Oklahoma State Department of Education after former State Superintendent Ryan Walters resigned on Sept. 30, citing staff concerns over spending practices under his leadership. ABC 7
