- ➤ Lawton Animal Welfare is hosting an Empty the Shelters event with lower adoption fees through Oct 15—dogs are $25.75 and cats are $15.75, and young animals need an extra deposit until they get their rabies vaccine. ABC 7
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Great Plains Technology Center’s paramedic program gives students more than 1,100 hours of in-person training that prepares them to handle real emergencies—students learn to drive an ambulance and work on live practice scenarios. Applications will be accepted until Dec. 6 and classes will start Jan. 5. ABC 7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Oklahoma tribes responded to an ODWC statement that said tribal members must have a state license to hunt and fish on tribal lands. Leaders from the Muscogee and Choctaw Nations argued for tribal sovereignty — urging members to contact their tribal departments if they face citations. ABC 7
