- ➤ Multiple tribal committees are teaming up to host Indigenous Peoples’ Day events in Lawton that begin today at Fort Sill Indian School with a pow wow featuring a Gourd Dance at 2 p.m. A city proclamation and panel will take place on Oct. 13 at Lawton City Hall while cultural activities and an awards ceremony are scheduled at Cameron University — highlighting local indigenous traditions. - ➤ A new list of resources is now available for federal employees and service members affected by the government shutdown— it provides 0% interest loans, payment assistance, and food bank support at Lawton Food Bank on October 15th from 2-4 PM. ABC 7
