- ➤ The Leslie Powell Gallery will host three art shows opening with a reception on Nov. 15 (6-8 p.m.) featuring works by Thomas Stotts, Christen Humphries and Eisenhower High School students. The exhibits will be on display until Dec. 19. ABC 7

- ➤ LEDC President Brad Cooksey discussed his group’s work in boosting Lawton’s economic future with GMT anchors Kyle Weatherly and Dan Threlkeld — he clarified differences with LEDA, outlined projects like Westwin and Firehawk, and noted an annual economic review set for Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 11:30 a.m. ABC 7
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Middle school students competed in the Lawton Public Schools Robotics Competition last Thursday at the Tomlinson STEM Arena by building and coding Legos to complete missions quickly — elementary school teams will compete today at 9:30 a.m. until about 1 p.m. ABC 7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Attorney General Gentner Drummond sent a letter on Wednesday to the Oklahoma Health Care Authority asking why small, community-based providers are facing payment delays and reduced Medicaid reimbursements—providers serving over 500,000 children reported this strain on pediatric care. He warned that if the issues persist, they may hurt the state's ability to deliver adequate pediatric services. ABC 7
- ➤ The Comanche Nation is giving food assistance vouchers to tribal members whose SNAP benefits are delayed during the ongoing government shutdown—$75 for individuals and $150 for households with more than two people. It is also organizing a special hunt on tribal land to supply its food pantry with venison and is accepting food donations Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ABC 7
