- ➤ The Lawton Food Bank received a $65,000 emergency grant from the McMahon Foundation to fix its shortage of fresh meat, dairy and eggs—this funding will boost its ability to serve local residents with nutritious food. The Lawton Constitution
- ➤ Cameron University will display over 7,000 American flags across campus—from Nov. 3—12—to honor veterans on Veterans Day. The tradition began in 2011 as part of the Remembrance Roll Call and honors service members who lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. ABC 7
- ➤ Cameron University is preparing to host its Military Veterans Resource Fair at the McMahon Centennial Complex on Nov 5-6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Active members, veterans and dependents will have access to community and campus resources offered by groups including American Legion Post 6 & Disabled American Veterans & Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. - ➤ Beloved Elgin Public Schools teacher Holly Hill died last week and the community gathered at the Performing Arts Center on a rainy morning to honor her memory—her death is now under investigation by the OSBI amid allegations that have raised questions about the incident's cause. ABC 7
