  • USO Oklahoma executive director Jennifer Waters previewed a busy November as the organization plans a free comedy show for adults on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at Fort Sill Patriot Club — a cooking demo by award-winning chef Mike Castaneda on Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. — and a Thanksgiving meal event.  ABC 7

CRIME NEWS

  • Forty-four flag markers are missing from veteran graves at Flower Mound Cemetery after a theft this summer—retired Army veteran Steven Bentley and his wife have searched local scrapyards as officials investigate ahead of Veterans Day.  ABC 7

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Cameron University Foundation honored longtime professor Dr. Ann Nalley by establishing the Dr. Ann Nalley Endowed Lectureship in Chemistry to benefit faculty and students at Cameron University. Dr. Nalley (the first full-time female professor at Cameron) was recognized during a faculty meeting in the Johnson Auditorium when President Dr. Shane Hunt announced the honor.  ABC 7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • New firefighters from the Lawton Fire Department celebrated their graduation from the in-house training program yesterday at City Hall, advancing their roles in serving local emergency needs.  The Lawton Constitution
  • Cameron University (at the Bill W. Burgess Jr. Business Research Center in Ross Hall) will hold a forum on rural healthcare on Nov. 20 at 12:30 p.m. where lawmakers and health leaders including Rep Trey Caldwell, Jay Johnson and Sean McAvoy will discuss telehealth, rural workforce, and in-person care for southwest Oklahoma.  ABC 7
