- ➤ United Way of Southwest Oklahoma will host a chili cook off Saturday in Lawton — Iola Noble was the keynote speaker at the Greater Lawton Rotary luncheon on Thursday and discussed her role with the organization. The Lawton Constitution
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ KSWO's Grandfield transmitter on channel 7.1 went offline after a major power failure melted main supply cables overnight—electricians began repairs when supply vendors opened Thursday while viewers near Lawton still receive programming on channel 7.7. ABC 7
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Lawton Fort Sill Arts Council will host a free Community Art Night on November 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1701 Ferris Ave.—participants will be taught to paint fall landscapes using water colors or acrylic. ABC 7
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Cameron University senior Makaila Payne, a Sports and Exercise Science major from Mountain View, has been named a Brad Henry International Scholar and will study at a university in Wales in Spring 2026. The scholarship, started in 2008 by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, will pay for tuition, housing and a small stipend to help with costs. ABC 7

- ➤ City Council members have entered the final phase of plans to spur downtown redevelopment in Lawton—officials say details will be released soon as they finalize the new mechanism. The Lawton Constitution
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Patients at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton now get faster test results after a nearly two-year lab renovation—new state-of-the-art chemistry, microbiology and histology instruments are in use. The upgraded lab now performs on-site blood gas tests—helping doctors make quicker diagnoses for patients. ABC 7
