- ➤ The University of Oklahoma is investigating a claim that student Samantha Fulnecky received a failing grade on her psychology essay for citing the Bible, and the graduate instructor was placed on leave while the review continues—state leaders have urged OU regents to examine the case to protect free speech. The review will check if the decision unfairly punished the student and hurt religious rights. ABC 7
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is temporarily closing parts of its public use areas from today through December 4 for a controlled elk hunt as part of deer and elk management. Areas west of the Visitor Center will be closed while those east remain open. ABC 7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Army recruiters explain that jobs in culinary, supply, motor transportation and medicine give soldiers skills that will help them succeed in civilian careers after service—allowing them to earn certifications like a CDL. ABC 7
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Southwest Oklahoma resident Sue Ann Lewis filled her late husband's Christmas stocking with funds from her family to help the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma after nearly fifty years of marriage. She said donations from her children and grandchildren supported local patients and she plans to continue this tradition in future holidays. ABC 7
