- ➤ Republic Paperboard exceeded its 2019 obligations by adding 37 full-time jobs and boosting payroll by over $10.8 million, so the Lawton Economic Development Authority approved $4,320,240 in development financing payable in annual installments over 20 years (this supports the company’s expansion at the West Side Industrial Park). EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Oklahoma Supreme Court struck down new social studies standards on Tuesday after ruling the State Board of Education did not provide the required public notice. The existing 2019 standards will remain until new standards are properly developed (by the board and legislature). Southwest Ledger
- ➤ Lawton Public Schools ended its Fall 2025 semester last Friday, maintaining a 50+year tradition by distributing Christmas food baskets with perishable and non-perishable items to local families. Officials said the program assists those in need during the holiday season. The Lawton Constitution
