If you know the purple two-story house at 909 NW Hilltop Dr., you know it goes big for Halloween. This year it added a fire-breathing dragon fountain, and the owner, who also owns Lawton's historic Vaska Theatre, built much of the decor by hand.

  • Fountain build: a couple of weeks, ready by the first week of October
  • Last year's project: a Ferris wheel
  • Many of the built decorations will become permanent fixtures
  • Drivers should park on the street, not in the grass

A neighborhood block party was planned for Saturday night, with more than 30 candy stations and displays during regular trick-or-treating hours. The homeowner told KSWO he made the dragon for his late stepdad.
