- ➤ Fort Sill officials announced a community update that includes an improv comedy class hosted by The Patriot Club on Jan. 31 from 1 to 3 p.m. — they also revealed changes to gate times for MLK day. ABC 7
- ➤ On Tuesday, Jan. 13, Kiowa Chairman Lawrence Spottedbird joined anchors Tarra Jones & Dave Hunter during Kiowa Happenings as Vice Chairman Sullivan discussed the Chairman’s Prayer Breakfast and the planned Kiowa Tribe Optical opening. The segment highlighted cultural events for the community. ABC 7
- ➤ Animal shelters in Lawton did not see the usual post-Christmas spike in pet surrenders; most intake rises between May and July (when more litters are born). Officials advise future pet owners to research breeds and to spay or neuter their pets. ABC 7

- ➤ According to a Parks Jones Realtors report, 409 homes are on the market with an average asking price of $209,872 and an average listing time of 49 days. The report noted that 1,505 homes sold in the past year and that the 30-year fixed mortgage rate dropped to 6.24%. ABC 7
